Clay
Students will learn the basics of the handbuilding process as they create several pieces of hand built sculptural and functional pottery to take home after glazing and firing.

BEGINNING CROCHET
Students will learn the basics of crochet. We will learn common crochet stitches, how to choose yarn, and how to crochet in the round to make basic amigurumi objects.

UNDER THE BIG TOP
Step right up and join the Summer Circus at Murray Art Guild! Young artists will bring their own big top to life, crafting colorful circus tents and exciting attractions using a variety of art materials and techniques. Get ready for a creative adventure filled with imagination and fun!

PAINTING EXPLORATION
Using a variety of painting media, artists will learn different techniques and styles as they explore the following subject matter; landscape, still life, figurative (people/animals), and abstract/non-objective.

COLOR ON COPPER
Students will be creating 3-4 pieces of jewelry (bracelets, pendants, brooches and or earrings) using copper and prismacolor. This is a multi-step project and it is important that students be present every day of the workshop. No skills required!

Using harmless paint for young hands we will enjoy all the feels of paint’s plasticity pushing pulling dragging and mixing colors and patterns exploring abstraction and form. Get ready to frame some timeless memorable masterpieces! We will paint, print, drip and dredge all week..Please send your child in clothes you don’t mind getting splattered on.

ADOPT A PLUSHIE
Everyone will adopt a plushie friend that will serve as their inspiration for the week. Campers will create a cardboard home for their plush, recreate it in clay, make paintings of their plush, and more!

OUTER SPACE ODYSSEY
Blast off into a universe of creativity at Outer Space Odyssey! Young artists will embark on an intergalactic adventure, designing their own planets, building rocket ships, sculpting quirky alien creatures from clay, and crafting custom space helmets fit for cosmic explorers. Using a variety of artistic techniques and materials, participants will create their own galactic worlds while letting their imaginations soar. Get ready for a space-tacular journey through art!

Using polymer clay and other materials, students will create small art objects/displays that will become part of their own installation around the Murray Court Square. We create a map to have available for people to view these mini installations at the July 26th Farmers Market, and welcome any of the students and their families to join the MAG that Saturday.
