ELIGIBILITY / SPECIFICATIONS

Exhibition is open to all artists 18 years and older. Work must be original, have been created within the last 3 years and not previously exhibited in a MAG exhibition. Work may be entered in one of the five categories: Drawing/Printmaking, Painting, Mixed Media/Collage, 3-D / Fiber Arts, or Photography. Work must be gallery ready for presentation. Strongly framed and securely wired. Wire should be 1/3 from top of frame. Three-dimensional work must be stable. Any work requiring special mounting is subject to disqualification. All work must remain in the exhibition entire show dates.

JUROR

Ann Gosser
Ann Flowers Gosser is a versatile artist and educator based in Kentucky. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art with a focus on Printmaking from Northern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art with a printmaking emphasis from Murray State University.

With a flair for multimedia artistry, Ann’s creative pursuits range from colorful mixed media works to crafty commodities. Her teaching journey has been equally diverse, guiding students of all ages at the Murray Art Guild, public school, and university classrooms. Through her art and instruction, Ann is dedicated to inspiring others and reminding them of their own creative potential.

SUBMISSIONS

There is no limit on number of entries. All entries will be selected from digital images submitted as email attachments:
It is to the artist’s advantage to submit high quality images. Digital image must represent the artwork to be exhibited exactly. File format must be JPG, at least 300dpi but not exceed 8MB. Each file name should contain TITLE, and framed image SIZE (ex: “NIGHT”, 24”x36”).

ENTRY FEES & INSTRUCTIONS

Entry fee is $20 for the first piece, and $7 for each additional entry. Entry Form should accompany each entry with fee payment—either by mail, in person, or online payment. (DIGITAL ENTRY FORM WILL APPEAR UPON ONLINE CHECKOUT.)

SALES

Sales are encouraged. The MAG’s commission is 25% for members and 35% for nonmembers. Please include sales commission in your sale price. There will be no price changes after acceptance. MAG will process all sales, including sales tax. Payment to artist for artwork sold is made through the Art Market with checks issued at end of second quarter.

AWARDS

Assigned by the juror, awards include: $500 Best of Show, $100 First Place in each of the 5 categories (Drawing/Printmaking, Painting, Mixed Media/Collage, 3D/Fiber Arts, Photography). As sponsorship allows, additional awards may be available.

SELECTION

Juror will make accepted selections from digital images. And will assign awards from digital images or actual work at time of installation. Artists will be notified by email of juror’s choice and chosen artwork must be presented for exhibition.

DELIVERY / RETRIEVAL of ARTWORK

Accepted, installation ready, work should be delivered to exhibition venue, Waterfield Library at MSU (15th & Olive Blvd) (see SCHEDULE for details). 2D work must be securely wired & with wires 1/3 from the top of the frame. Work may be shipped prior to installation date to Murray Art Guild, 403 MAPLE ST, Murray KY 42071. Please alert MAG office of intentions. Works may be picked up either by the artist or purchaser at close of show (see SCHEDULE for details). Failure to pick up on that day will result in a penalty of $10/day for 30 days. Any work not picked up after 30 days will be considered abandoned.

Visual Evidence is a juried show. There is no assurance implied that any given entry will be accepted into the show. The Murray Art Guild will take the utmost care in the handling of all artwork but cannot be responsible of loss or damage to any artwork during exhibition period.
