Our Voices

In 2018, after a local school shooting, the Murray Art Guild was awarded a “360 Grant” from the Community Foundation of West Kentucky in order to facilitate an art and wellness project, entitled “Our Voices” for area highschool students.  Creativity can help teens express and process hard feelings, such as grief, fear, and anger that they may not have words for.  In light of recent events in our region, this special, nonpartisan, collaborative project was created to help the students process their emotions, and express their "voice" for support or healing or change for the local community.

This project was installed in the Calloway County Park and later moved to the community garden area of the MAG, where it continues to be displayed and rotated as a reminder of community hope & solidarity from the voices of our local highschoolers.
