Introduction to Drawing: Continued
Guild assistant Stacey Reason will be teaching
an 6 week drawing class designed to introduce basic drawing material
and techniques to the beginner, or a
good review for anyone else!Participants will be introduced to the basic
principles and elemnts of art and design, with an emphasis on mark making,
process, perspective, proportion and composition.This class is opento anyone familiar with drawing; it is not required to have attended the first class. It will start with a review of basic principles and jump right in to more extensive processes and concepts. supply

MAG Photography Group
The newly formed MAG Photography Group will meet at
the Guild on fourth Thursdays of each month at 6pm beginning Thursday Feb.
27. This non-instructional
group dedicated to photography will meet to discuss
technical problems, material resources, share images and ideas. Bring your
work, bring your camera...get involved!
Weekly
Life Drawing Sessions
Thursdays
9am - 12 noon at the Murray Art Guild, 500 North 4th Street. Nominal model
fee. Call or email the
Guild by Tuesday noon to reserve your space. This is an on-going class
which will continue through the fall. The session is non-instructional
and artist are encouraged to work in media of choice. Weave A Rug In A Day
The loom is warped (dark colors) and weavers
are on hand … just waiting for you to weave! Make an appointment
during regular Guild hours (Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday:
10-3) to come in and weave a beautiful rag rug of your own design.
Materials are available, you simply decide what works for you.
Fee: $20 Guild members, $25 non-members.
Beginning Weaving
Beginning weaving classes are set up on an
independent basis where students are avble to work one on onw with
the instructor. Participants will weave on both a table loom and a
floor loom working first on a "sampler" then creating a project
of their own design. In the past beginning students have woven shawls,
baby blankets, table runners and placemats as well as hand towels and
napkins. Instruction is also availabe in tapestry weaving and
triangle loom weaving. Contact the Guild for additional information
and to schedule a time.
Plein Air
MAG Plein Air Painters will
meet in various locations for a day of painting “in the open
air”. Most months will meet on the second Monday. Plan to meet
at designated location at 9am. Bring painting or drawing supplies (most
folks will be working in watercolor, oils, pastels) everything you’ll
need to be comfortable (easel, chairs, etc.) and a lunch.
MAG Plein Air Painting Mondays are
non-instructional with no fees charged. This informal gathering will
give everyone a chance to work independently throughout the day, and
then come together over lunch and at the end of the day to share trials
and triumphs. Next meeting: August 11, Clarks River area off of 94 east.

Summer schedule
Messy Friday: Kristi
Shapla: This class for ages 3-6 will meet from 9am - 10am for 12 weeks
on Friday mornings beginning February 1. Students and parents will be
introduced to a variety of age appropriate materials and techniques as
they explore creative possibilities. Fee: $105 ($35 monthly, or $94.50 -10% if paid in
full at registration) Painting & Drawing:
Debi Danielson: After school art studio for ages 6 – 9 on Wednesday
afternoons from 3:30-5:00 beginning on Jan. 30th. In this studio students
will work in a variety of painting and drawing materials as they explore
different artists and techniques. Emphasis is on creativity and individual
expression. Fee: $165 ($55 monthly, 10% if paid in full at registration-$148.50)
12 weeks MAG Juniors: Heather
Duffy: After school art studio for ages 10 -13 on Tuesday afternoons
from 4:00 - 5:30 beginning Feb. 5. In this studio students will work
in a variety of media and art forms with an emphasis on creativity and
individual expression. Students will apply basic art making skills to
different 2D and 3D projects. Fee: $165 ($55 monthly, 10% if paid in
full at registration-$148.50) 12 weeks
